Requirements

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Excellent understanding of compliance and working with the Canada Energy Regulator and Alberta Energy Regulator.
  • Initiative and ability to learn British Columbia Energy Regulator.
  • Strong communication and excellent attention to detail.
  • Specific knowledge and experience of federal and provincial regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regulatory strategies for all aspects of federal and provincial project approvals, including an analysis of potential risks and mitigants.
  • Develop and execute regulatory strategies for all aspects of federal and provincial operations, including filing notices.
  • Track condition compliance through project lifecycle.
  • Advise and assist on all aspects of regulatory applications and filings including: Preparing and reviewing notifications, applications, and amendments; Preparing and reviewing information requests and responses; Drafting responses to stakeholder interventions; Preparing for and attending regulatory hearings as required; and Submitting regulatory filings.
  • Assist with due diligence related to potential transactions.
  • Participate in regulatory consultations, industry associations and forums as appropriate; both to influence regulatory policy development as well as be informed about potential changes.
  • Communicate regulatory policy development initiatives within the Company as appropriate.
