The Project Engineer (PE) serves as the technical lead for assigned programs and is entrusted by Engineering Leadership with responsibility and authority to drive all engineering execution activities. Working in close partnership with the Program Manager (PM), the PE ensures that engineering efforts remain aligned with program objectives, technical requirements, budget, and schedule. In this role, Engineering Functional Task Leaders (including Systems, Software, Aeronautical, Specialty, Logistics, and Technical Publications) take direction from the PE for all program-specific activities. The PE collaborates with Functional Managers to track Earned Value (EV) through the Labor Tracking System (LTS), ensuring consistency between functional performance and overall program metrics. Beyond core engineering functions, the PE is accountable for broader technical performance across the full program lifecycle. This includes ensuring compliance, certification, and seamless integration with manufacturing, operations, and ODA/FAA processes. PEs also serve as a key technical interface with customers, engaging in every phase of the program—from initial planning through delivery and sustainment. Project Engineers are a key technical interface to Customers and have the responsibility and opportunity to interact at every phase of the program lifecycle. Travel may be required up to 20% based on business needs.
