About The Position

The Project Engineer acts as a project manager, leading Systems Engineering projects that develop custom communications systems centered on tactical radio and networking solutions for critical military communications. Systems may combine L3Harris products, vendor equipment, and custom-designed mounting solutions, and may support voice and data applications across vehicles, ships, aircraft, and C4ISR systems. The role leads multidisciplinary engineering teams and may directly supervise engineers in a matrix environment. It develops and executes Systems Engineering Management Plans to meet project quality, performance, schedule, and budget goals. The Project Engineer oversees customer requirements, system design and documentation, cost estimates, project deliverables, integration and testing, vendor and subcontractor requirements, risk mitigation, scope-change replanning, reporting, and configuration management. The position also supports proposals, staffing, organizational revenue and shipment goals, demonstrations, field trials, and other program commitments. The role requires effective communication with internal teams and customers, strong technical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to foster team building. Travel may be up to 10% annually, typically international trips of two weeks or less.
