Design and qualify precision mechanisms used in mission systems for complex, high-consequence environments. The role owns major components and subsystems from early concepts through integration and test, supporting dependable capabilities for customers’ challenging missions. This is an on-site position involving direct work with labs, prototypes, integration, and hardware testing. Work takes place across office and laboratory environments. The position leads mechanical design, analysis, prototype integration, and qualification testing for precision mechanisms and electromechanical hardware. It develops 3D models, drawings, technical data packages, and assembly documentation; evaluates material selections and design trades; and improves designs for performance, size, weight, power, manufacturability, and reliability. The engineer plans and executes component- and system-level tests, analyzes results, and drives design improvements. The role also presents designs and results at internal and customer reviews and collaborates with manufacturing, quality, configuration management, suppliers, technicians, and program test teams to transition designs into production. Field-test or demonstration support may be required. The schedule is 9/80: employees work nine out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off. Sign-on bonuses are available for qualified candidates with a current polygraph.
