About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer contributes to the development, improvement, and optimization of processes and techniques used to manufacture Image Intensifier (I2) tubes. The role focuses on improving current processes and materials management to increase image intensifier capabilities and manufacturing yield, reduce variation, improve component performance, implement manufacturing standard work and best practices, and develop optimized process recipes and methodologies. Success is measured by timely process optimization and the implementation of new processes in production, with cost savings from reduced tool downtime, improved process yield, and enhanced product performance. The position provides advanced sustaining engineering support for Image Intensifier manufacturing, including real-time troubleshooting of process and equipment issues, process controls, data analysis, continuous improvement, and qualification support. The engineer partners with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain and may mentor less experienced engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel. The job is located in Tempe, Arizona, and follows a 9/80 schedule: employees work 9 out of every 14 days for 80 total hours, with every other Friday off.
