About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Environmental plays a critical role in ensuring strong environmental compliance and performance across the organization. This position provides technical expertise, regulatory guidance, and leadership to support environmental programs, drive continuous improvement, and promote consistent work practices across business units.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field
  • 5 or more years of experience in environmental compliance, environmental management, or a related technical role
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% and perform field-based work as required

Responsibilities

  • Provide enterprise-wide environmental regulatory guidance and interpretation across waste and water programs, including CWA, RCRA related federal rules, and applicable state requirements for Phillips 66 operating assets.
  • Provide oversight of the Phillips 66 Commercial Waste Management Program, including oversight of approved commercial waste facilities, audit strategy, facility review, and program implementation.
  • Lead the Waste Management Network and collaborate with other environmental networks to drive alignment, knowledge sharing, and consistent execution across business units.
  • Evaluate new and emerging waste and water regulatory requirements, assess business impacts, and develop implementation strategies, guidance, and company procedures.
  • Support project reviews, waste determinations, and permitting activities to ensure environmental compliance and timely issue resolution.
  • Provide technical support to operating sites during agency inspections, peer reviews, audits, and significant compliance issues or environmental events.
  • Develop and analyze environmental performance metrics to identify trends, reduce compliance deviations, and improve program effectiveness.
  • Maintain company waste procedures, tools, and standard work practices to improve consistency and reduce environmental risk.
  • Represent Phillips 66 in relevant industry associations, working groups, and regulatory outreach efforts related to waste, water, and related environmental issues.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to environmental and operational personnel, including development of practical guidance and learning opportunities for site staff.
