About The Position

The Senior Specialist - Alternatives, Investments, supports analysis, implementation and oversight of AXA XL’s alternatives investment program across private equity, hedge funds, private credit, strategic investments and other private asset classes as required. The role combines strong analytical capability with ownership of assigned sectors. The individual will evaluate investment opportunities in close coordination with AXA Group Centers of Expertise (COE’s) , support portfolio construction, contribute to the development of the Investment Plan and implement approved strategies through AXA Group, AXA XL Division and AXA XL legal entity governance frameworks, working closely with AXA IM Prime and internal stakeholders.

  • Understanding of alternative investments (private equity, hedge funds, private credit, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Actively monitor global markets and relevant sectors to provide insight into market developments, relative value and strategy recommendations for portfolio positioning across all major currencies.
  • Analyze private equity, hedge fund, and strategic investment opportunities, including strategy, performance, and risk profile.
  • Conduct due diligence, including manager engagement and coordination of internal inputs.
  • Develop dashboards to monitor existing investments, including performance and risk developments.
  • Coverage of assigned sectors, maintaining visibility on exposures, pipeline, and positioning.
  • Contribute to portfolio construction, including allocation, diversification, and deployment pacing.
  • Assess investment suitability across legal entities and regulatory environments (e.g., BMA, Solvency II, RBC), considering local capital/solvency, liquidity, and risk appetite constraints.
  • Prepare and present materials for Investment Committee and other governance forums.
  • Support execution of approved investments, including coordination with GRM, FRM, Legal, Tax, Operations, AXA IM Prime, and external managers.
  • Ensure investments comply with AXA XL policies, AXA Group guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track forecasted cash flows, including capital calls and distributions, and investment earnings against budget.
  • Support management of capital call pacing relative to funding plans.
  • Compare forecasted income versus actuals and update budgeting models accordingly
  • Support multi-year forecasting of asset class growth and portfolio evolution with AXA Group.
  • Coordinate across AXA XL, AXA IM Prime, and Group stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform data analysis using advanced Excel skills.
  • Participate in group-wide COEs or projects as required.
