About The Position

In this role, you will develop customized contract strategy recommendations for complex contracting needs, including physician preference, clinical preference, purchase services, and capital categories. You will negotiate contract terms, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, analyze cost-saving opportunities, and support initiatives that reduce spend, improve operational efficiencies, maximize delivered value, and enhance client satisfaction. You will apply advanced sourcing and contracting expertise to guide strategic decisions, strengthen supplier relationships, and support organizational goals.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience negotiating and managing complex sourcing and contracting initiatives required.
  • Proficiency with sourcing, contracting, and data analysis tools required.
  • Experience collaborating with legal teams and cross-functional business partners required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret cost data and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop customized contract strategy recommendations for complex contracting needs to reduce spend and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Negotiate complex contract terms and conditions in partnership with legal teams to meet the needs of clients, suppliers, and Vizient.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop contracts aligned to specific client requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze requests for proposals to support sourcing and contracting recommendations.
  • Identify and propose cost-saving initiatives for larger and more complex client accounts and projects.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of client and supplier experiences to drive effective cost savings strategies and process improvements.
  • Ensure contract compliance with terms and conditions necessary to achieve targeted savings outcomes.
  • Support vendor relationship management activities, including coordinating in-services, scheduling product trials, and resolving product-related issues.
  • Calculate, analyze, and interpret cost data to recommend savings opportunities and operational improvements.
  • Design and deliver communication strategies that convey recommendations, successes, opportunities, and challenges to stakeholders and senior leaders.
