About The Position

LinkedIn's Infrastructure Business Engineering team manages the technology suppliers, contracts, and spend that power LinkedIn's production data centers, global network, and internal IT. We are looking for a Senior Sourcing Engineer to own end-to-end sourcing for key infrastructure categories – from strategy and RFx through negotiation, contract execution, and supplier management. You will partner closely with engineering, supply planning, finance, legal, and procurement to deliver the right technology at the right cost and on time, while driving measurable savings and reducing supply risk.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, or vendor management for technology or infrastructure products and services
  • 3+ years of experience negotiating and executing supplier contracts (e.g., MSAs, SOWs, purchase agreements)

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of sourcing experience in data center, server/hardware, network, or enterprise IT categories at a hyperscale, cloud, or large technology company
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies: compute, storage, networking, data center power and cooling, and enterprise software
  • Track record of leading complex, high-value RFPs and negotiations
  • Strong financial and analytical skills: TCO modeling, cost breakdowns, CapEx/OpEx, depreciation, accruals, and budget variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel and data/BI skills (e.g., Power BI, SQL) for spend analysis and reporting
  • Experience with procurement, P2P, and contract management tools (e.g., Zip, Coupa, Ariba, Evisort)
  • Understanding of contract terms related to data privacy, security, IP, liability, and warranty
  • MBA or professional certification (CPSM, CSCP) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own sourcing strategy and execution for assigned infrastructure categories, such as data center equipment and services, telecom/circuits, and infrastructure software/SaaS
  • Partner with engineering and technical leaders to understand roadmaps, utilization, and demand; right-size purchases in line with capacity plans and budget
  • Lead RFx events (RFI/RFP/RFQ): build bid packages, run supplier evaluations, perform total cost of ownership (TCO) and should-cost analysis, and make award recommendations
  • Develop negotiation strategies with stakeholders and lead commercial negotiations on pricing, terms, SLAs, warranty/support, and lead times
  • Draft, review, and execute supplier agreements (MSAs, SOWs, purchase agreements, amendments, renewals) in partnership with Legal, Security, and Privacy
  • Manage the end-to-end supplier lifecycle: selection, onboarding, quarterly business reviews, performance scorecards, and issue escalation
  • Drive and report cost savings and cost avoidance against team targets; support budget planning, forecasting, and plan-vs-actual variance analysis with Finance
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply constraints; identify supply continuity and pricing risks and propose mitigation (dual-sourcing, buffer strategies, long-term agreements)
  • Manage a pipeline of sourcing requests from intake through execution, ensuring on-time PR/PO and procure-to-pay support
  • Improve sourcing processes, tools, and reporting (e.g., contract repository, request tracking, spend dashboards)
