About The Position

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Cloudflare, you will be the technical expert throughout the sales cycle, both pre and post-sales. You will engage with prospects and customers to educate them, empower them, and ensure their success on the Cloudflare platform. Your deep technical knowledge of Cloudflare’s global distributed network and technology will enable you to identify the best solutions for prospects, conduct training and onboarding sessions (via video conference or in person), create documentation, and support the long-term success of customers. You will act as a subject matter expert in web/mobile security and performance, developing firewall rules from log files, creating performance caching and delivery strategies, and developing or adapting internal tools and scripts for customers. Internally, you will serve as the technical customer advocate, collaborating with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to create scalable solutions that meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with a scripting language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua, Go) and a desire to expand those skills.
  • Expertise in internet technologies: OSI Model layers 1-7, BGP, GRE, TCP/UDP, DNS (authoritative and recursive), HTTP(S), SSL / TLS.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Framework and SASE related concepts.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing sales or consulting role.
  • Technical curiosity and passion.
  • Ability to stay up to date with Cloudflare’s specific products and industry trends.
  • Focus on learning, teaching, collaboration, mentorship, and growth.
  • Project management skills.
  • Relationship building skills.
  • EQ (Emotional Quotient).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building web applications or contributing to existing web applications.
  • Understanding of firewalls (L3, L4, L7) and network access control lists (ACLs).
  • Comfort with command-line interfaces, RESTful APIs, and analyzing HTTP requests/responses.
  • Ability to describe the differences between CSRF, XSS, and SQLi and Cloudflare's role in defending against them.
  • Understanding of, or experience with, regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2.
  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Graduate-level degrees in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.
  • Certifications.
