About The Position

Egnyte is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer (also known as a Sales Engineer) who can effectively communicate with Project staff, IT personnel, and executives within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. This role serves as a "Technical Liaison" connecting Sales, Product, Marketing, and AEC customers. The Senior SE is expected to work autonomously, going beyond feature demonstrations to challenge the customer's current practices. They will translate complex construction workflows, such as BIM collaboration and project delivery, into secure and scalable Egnyte-based solutions, emphasizing the value proposition. The individual will own the technical success of engagements, lead customer pilots and Proofs of Concept (POCs) with minimal supervision, and mentor junior team members on industry best practices.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in a combination of Sales Engineering, Technology (IT and/or AEC industry technology), and AEC industry experience.
  • Consultative Selling: Strong experience with process-centric solution selling (value-selling).
  • Ability to confidently work with all levels of customer roles, from the BIM Manager to the CIO, CTO, and CISO.
  • Broad knowledge of SaaS, infrastructure, network (bandwidth/latency impact on CAD), authentication (SSO/AD), and data governance.
  • Ability to deliver executive-ready pitches that align to customer goals and handle objections in real-time with confidence.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical familiarity with core AEC design and collaboration tools is preferred.
  • Specifically: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil3D, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Procore or ACC is highly desired.
  • Hobbyist or light coding experience can be beneficial, but applicants who expect to utilize their developer experience heavily need not apply.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead complex customer engagements and Proofs-of-Concept (POCs) with clear execution plans.
  • Configure hands-on configurations of Egnyte and third-party integrations, ensuring a perfect technical fit.
  • Bridge the gap between non-technical and technical audiences, speaking to business outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by leveraging background in IT, Engineering, or Construction.
  • Proactively identify technical roadblocks related to large file handling, site-to-office synchronization, and remote collaboration.
  • Prepare and deliver tailored presentations and solution proposals.
  • Map specific client business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the AEC competitive landscape (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, Bentley).
  • Evaluate deal relevance based on Egnyte's GTM strategy and provide insights to the sales team.
  • Collaborate with Egnyte Product and Engineering to share industry insights that shape the roadmap.
  • Provide guidance to teammates to support customer success across the growing AEC scope of work.
  • Lead the technical response for RFIs/RFPs.
