About The Position

CompuNet is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer with a Data Center focus to join their team. This role will provide value for clients in both pre-sales design and post-sales implementation. The engineer will collaborate with the sales team to build winning strategies, perform pre-sales technical functions to create systems designs, build Bills of Materials (BoM), create illustrations and diagrams, and provide Statements of Work (SoW). They will also relay technical information to both technical and non-technical staff, perform post-sales implementation of systems designed, produce post-implementation project documentation, and provide end-user systems administration training. Additionally, the role involves developing strategic relationships with manufacturer Partner SEs. Key expectations include listening to and addressing customer technical challenges, designing solutions that meet business needs, communicating on a high level regarding multiple technologies, maintaining existing certifications, and growing to new areas with certification. The technologies encompassed by this role include Converged and Hyper-Converged (HCI) solutions, Storage (Block, File & Object), Connectivity (Fibre Channel, iSCSI), Virtualization (design, deploy, maintenance of vSphere, Hyper-V, virtual network connectivity), Cloud (understanding of public & private clouds like Azure, AWS, GCP is preferred but not required), Data Protection (Veeam, Cohesity, Rubrik, Backup and Restore), Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Microsoft Active Directory (understanding recommended), Networking (basic fundamentals for connectivity), and Windows Server components like DHCP, DNS & PKI.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and bring order to ambiguous situations
  • Ability to work on different projects in a simultaneous fashion (i.e. multiple customer projects in the same time period).
  • Ability to relay technical information to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management and independent work skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to travel 25-50% of the time depending on client needs
  • 8+ years of experience is a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of public & private clouds
  • Microsoft Active Directory (not required but recommended to have some level of understanding)
  • Cloud (some understanding preferred but not required)

Responsibilities
