About The Position

The Prototyping and Customer Engineering (PACE) team acts as trusted customer advocates, assisting customers in creating early iterations of products and solutions, often exploring new technical grounds. The team is seeking experienced and motivated technologists with a blend of technical depth and strong interpersonal and writing skills. As a prototype developer, you will collaborate with customers and other AWS teams to design solutions that meet customer use cases and accelerate AWS adoption. You will help shape and build prototypes across various domains and industry verticals, including automotive, energy, healthcare, telco, manufacturing, and media and entertainment. A key aspect of this role is the ability to learn new technologies and develop high-quality solutions that demonstrate business value. Self-guidance and time management are crucial for success. Prototypes will span domains such as AI/ML, AR/VR/Spatial, IoT, and Serverless, with a focus on exploring the possibilities of Generative AI. The ability to learn new technology and develop solutions that meet a high-quality bar and convey business value is critical to the role.

Requirements

• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• Have a passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions for a diverse and challenging set of customers which are primarily large enterprises.
• Past experience working as a developer or hands-on solutions architect.
• Enjoy keeping existing technical skills honed and developing new ones.
• Regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS.
• Combine design and architecture knowledge with development capability (i.e. comfortable on the white-board and also on the keyboard).
• Engage often in early stages of customer use-cases and also in competitive situations.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, good communication and being hands-on are important qualities.
• Appetite and initiative to learn new topics and experiment, covering domains such as AI/ML, agentic design, serverless and IoT in an enterprise context.
• Be great fun to work with. Dynamic and creative, willing to take on complex challenges and make a big impact.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with designing and building applications using AWS services such as Lambda, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Kubernetes
• 5+ years of working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning), GenAI (Generative AI), Analytics, Database, and/or Storage experience

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers on a specific use case to determine desired outcomes, define a scope and design and implement it (code, CDK, docs) with a small team of developers in 6 weeks
