About The Position

We’re seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join our team. This is a highly collaborative, customer-facing role that combines hands-on technical skills with strategic problem-solving, creativity, influence, and a consultative approach. You’ll work closely with Sales, Technical Services, Product Management, Product Marketing, and Engineering to deliver technical expertise, architect impactful solutions for prospective and existing customers, and shape the future of our product and industry. You'll uncover the core challenges of platform engineering teams, design solutions using our flexible, extensive, and highly scalable platform, and stand on virtual and real stages as you demonstrate your solutions, approach and thought leadership. You'll have the weight of Buildkite at your back as you guide internal and external stakeholders through the technical validation process, and you'll move the industry forward as a result.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Buildkite, Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS CodePipelines, Azure Pipelines, GitLab, etc.
  • Experienced with DevOps technologies encompassing containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Passionate about learning new build technologies such as Bazel, Kubernetes, iOS development tools, etc.
  • Expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure
  • Communicate and present with clarity, able to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Solve problems well, with the ability to identify customer needs and design tailored solutions
  • Take a curious and consultative approach, with a strong gut feel to identify the things that really matter, and the confidence to focus on them
  • Worked in fast-paced, dynamic environments managing multiple priorities
  • Collaborate well, with the ability to work effectively across Sales, Product, and Solutions teams

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales to identify business opportunities aligned with our platform
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their CI/CD architecture and workflows, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and outcomes
  • Design and deliver engaging demonstrations to showcase our capabilities
  • Work prospects through technical proofs-of-concept to secure the technical win
  • Advise customers how to migrate from their existing solutions to Buildkite’s uniquely differentiated platform including our dynamic pipeline approach
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and Product Engineering, sharing tactical and strategic feedback to shape the future of the products and platform
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in CI/CD and software delivery (which you’ll influence)
  • Use storytelling to demonstrate value and guide customers through validating Buildkite as the right solution for their business and technical needs
  • Educate the Sales team to strengthen their product knowledge and market positioning
  • Represent Buildkite at industry events and conferences large and small to build awareness, create excitement, and simply engage with the dev & ops communities
  • Close sales deals and celebrate wins you’ve achieved by leveraging your consultative technical expertise to showing customers their bright future with Buildkite
