Senior Solutions Architect, EdTech, Canada Public Sector
About The Position
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a passionate Senior Solutions Architect (SA) to join their team and help Education Technology (EdTech) companies transform the way learners and educators experience the classroom. This role focuses on enabling Canadian EdTechs to leverage the cloud for innovative, data-driven, and AI-powered solutions. As a trusted technical advisor, you will own end-to-end technical engagements, working with customers from whiteboard to production to implement solutions using Generative AI, modern data and analytics platforms, and resilient cloud-native applications. You will engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels, from C-suite executives to engineering teams, combining deep technical expertise with business acumen. The role involves authoring whitepapers, delivering technical webinars, speaking at public events, contributing to open-source projects, and potentially filing patents. SAs in this team are expected to design secure, compliant, and high-performing solutions, provide thought leadership on AI/ML and data-driven education trends, and act as builders and leaders. This role is based in Toronto with approximately 15% travel expected across Canada.
Requirements
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 8+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of cloud architecture
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, or experience in developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU or other AI acceleration hardware
Responsibilities
- Owning technical engagements at all levels
- Removing technical account management barriers
- Defining implementation and transition architectures
- Helping customers achieve project and overall technical success
- Assisting strategic solution providers with AWS-oriented definitions and implementations
- Developing and delivering presentations, discussions, product demos, sample solutions, blog posts, and white papers
- Working closely with account managers and business developers to ensure customer success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS cloud
- Supporting and promoting AWS consulting and technology partners
- Gaining industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist and keynote speaker at AWS and third-party technology conferences, trade shows and press events
- Capturing and sharing knowledge with the broader AWS Solutions Architecture community
