About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced and technically deep Senior Solutions Architect to join its Global Financial Services (GFS) team. This role involves partnering with major banking, insurance, and capital markets companies, along with AWS Sales and cross-functional teams, to design highly scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures. The goal is to solve business problems and accelerate AWS adoption. The position requires serving as a trusted technical advisor to senior customer stakeholders, guiding them on cloud migration, cloud-native development, and AI adoption best practices. Additionally, the role contributes to the broader Solutions Architect (SA) community through mentorship, content creation, and thought leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

• 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
• Experience in a technical role within a sales organization

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to architect, build, and migrate applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
• Work with sales teams to develop and execute strategies that drive AWS adoption and exceed revenue objectives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior technical leaders at Financial Services customers, influencing their long-term technology strategy.
• Lead architectural discussions and design reviews, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, cost-optimized, and operationally excellent.
• Develop and contribute reusable reference architectures, patterns, and best-practice content for the SA community.
• Mentor and develop fellow Solutions Architects, actively contributing to team capability growth.
• Act as a Financial Services thought leader through public speaking, written content, and industry engagement on cloud and AI adoption.
• Conduct training sessions (one-to-few and one-to-many) to transfer knowledge to customers evaluating or already using AWS.
• Provide structured feedback to AWS service and product teams based on customer needs and gaps identified in the field.
• Contribute to organizational strategic planning, recruiting, and the development of team-wide initiatives.
