About The Position

Protiviti is looking for a Technology Consulting Associate Director to join our growing Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security Engineering team. As an Associate Director, you’ll lead complex engagements, strengthen strategic client relationships, and manage technology risk. You’ll develop practical solutions using analytics, automation, and modern tools while ensuring high-quality delivery. You’ll identify new business, represent Protiviti in the market, and mentor teams while overseeing successful project delivery. We are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to provide technical and commercial leadership for our AWS Platform Engineering practice. You will set architectural direction across strategic engagements, guide complex decisions, and step into the highest-risk technical challenges. Operating beyond a single engagement, you will establish reusable delivery standards, develop engineers and architects, build trusted senior-client relationships, and connect delivery excellence to account growth. The role maintains deep technical credibility and carries a formal sales quota.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with: Deep and broad expertise designing, implementing, and governing enterprise AWS environments.
• Demonstrated ability to influence architecture and technology strategy across large or complex organizations.
• Experience leading multiple complex cloud engagements or portfolios of technical work.
• Strong architecture capability across infrastructure, networking, security, automation, resilience, governance, operations, and migration.
• Ability to advise senior executives while retaining credibility with deeply technical engineering teams.
• Significant experience shaping and estimating complex cloud transformation engagements.
• Demonstrated ability to identify client needs and translate them into valuable consulting and engineering engagements.
• Experience developing technical leaders and raising engineering standards across an organization.
• Strong understanding of consulting economics, delivery risk, scope management, and commercial decision making.
• Experience in consulting, professional services, or systems integration environments strongly preferred.
• Amazon Bedrock (agents, knowledge bases, guardrails)
• AWS Step Functions or similar orchestration services
• API design and integration patterns (REST, event-driven)
• Data architecture (how the agent knowledge base ingests and indexes procurement/logistics data)
• Infrastructure as Code (CDK or CloudFormation)
• IAM, networking, VPC design for the customer's AWS environment
• Familiarity with ERP integration patterns (JDE, Oracle FBDI export format) - does not need to be an ERP specialist, but needs to design the handoff
• Ability to translate business process (procurement workflow) into technical architecture
• Has led agentic AI / GenAI builds before, not just chatbots
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., MIS, IS, Comp Sci., etc.).
• 9+ years working in professional services or industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership across the most strategic and complex AWS client engagements.
• Establish architecture direction and engineering standards for AWS Platform Engineering.
• Advise client CIO, CTO, CISO, architecture, infrastructure, and engineering leaders on cloud strategy and major AWS technology decisions.
• Guide Solutions Architects and Senior Cloud Engineers through complex architecture and delivery challenges.
• Review and influence major designs involving AWS infrastructure, networking, security, resilience, migration, modernization, automation, and operating models.
• Intervene directly in high-risk or highly complex delivery situations where senior technical leadership is required.
• Ensure major engagements align with client outcomes, engineering quality standards, security expectations, and sustainable operating models.
• Develop reusable reference architectures, engineering frameworks, accelerators, and intellectual property.
• Build technical capability across the AWS delivery organization through mentoring, coaching, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Partner closely with AWS alliance and pre-sales leaders to shape strategic opportunities.
• Translate client needs and delivery insights into new service offerings and solution patterns.
• Own or materially contribute to technical solutioning, estimation, executive presentations, proposals, and statements of work for major opportunities.
• Develop trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders that lead to continued advisory and engineering opportunities.
• Maintain accountability for an assigned sales quota and contribute directly to pipeline development and conversion.
• Identify opportunities based on meaningful client needs rather than transactional selling.
• Represent the AWS Platform Engineering practice with AWS technical teams, strategic clients, and industry stakeholders.
• Demonstrate senior consulting leadership through judgment, influence, executive communication, collaborative decision making, and accountability for strategic outcomes.
