About The Position

Quevera is seeking a skilled Senior Solaris & Linux Systems Administrator with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This role supports enterprise Solaris and Linux environments, including storage, backup, security, vulnerability management, and patching systems. The position requires hands-on expertise with Solaris, IBM Enterprise Storage, Veritas NetBackup, vulnerability management tools, system hardening, and package management.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Three (3) or more years of hands-on Solaris System Administration experience.
• Three (3) or more years of hands-on System Administration experience with OLVM, RHEL, CentOS, or similar.
• Experience with IBM Enterprise Storage systems.
• Strong knowledge of Veritas NetBackup administration.
• Experience with Nessus vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows.
• Proficiency with YUM package management and patching strategies.
• Familiarity with STE/STIN processes and NSF-related security frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Linux security, system hardening, and compliance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and scripting skills using Bash, Python, or similar.

Nice To Haves

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent certification.
• Experience in enterprise environments with high-availability and disaster-recovery requirements.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or similar.
• Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Solaris and Linux systems in a production environment.
• Manage and support IBM Enterprise Storage solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Veritas NetBackup for enterprise backup and recovery operations.
• Perform system patching and package management using YUM repositories.
• Execute and remediate vulnerability scans using Nessus to support compliance with security standards.
• Support and maintain STE/STIN processes and environments, as applicable to organizational standards.
• Implement and maintain system security configurations, including NSF frameworks and policies.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure upgrades, audits, and incident response.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and compliance requirements.
