About The Position

NCR Voyix is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Senior Software Quality Engineer to lead quality engineering efforts for enterprise-scale retail solutions. The role develops and executes quality strategies to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing software supporting critical business initiatives within the CFR space. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise and a continuous improvement mindset, using test automation, API and database validation, defect analysis, and Agile methodologies to improve product quality.

The engineer works across business and technology teams to identify quality risks early, improve delivery outcomes, and build confidence in product releases. The position spans end-to-end testing of distributed enterprise applications and validation of cloud-native, Kubernetes-based, and retail store operating environments. It also contributes to quality engineering practices, mentoring, quality metrics, and release reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of Quality Engineering experience supporting enterprise software applications.
• Strong experience in manual and automated testing methodologies, including test planning, execution, defect management, and quality assurance practices.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as JavaScript or Java, for test automation and software development.
• Experience in API, integration, and service validation testing, including REST and SOAP services, and troubleshooting interface and data exchange issues.
• Strong expertise in database validation and data testing, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in Agile, Scrum, and DevOps environments, including integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including defect triage, root cause analysis, performance investigation, and using monitoring and observability tools to diagnose issues.
• Experience supporting retail, fuel retail, hospitality, POS, or other enterprise transaction-based platforms, including payment processing, loyalty integrations, transaction flows, and store operations workflows.
• Experience testing cloud-native and Kubernetes-based applications.
• Knowledge of BDD frameworks and practices, scalability, resiliency, and reliability testing.
• Participation in large-scale enterprise transformation or modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute quality engineering strategies, test plans, and validation approaches aligned with business objectives, product requirements, and release goals.
• Lead end-to-end testing across distributed enterprise applications, including functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end validation.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and reusable test assets, and drive adoption of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation, rapid feedback, and increased delivery confidence.
• Validate REST/SOAP APIs, system integrations, and SQL/NoSQL databases for contract compliance, data integrity, and interoperability.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and manage defects through resolution; perform root cause analysis using logs, monitoring tools, and system diagnostics.
• Evaluate product quality and release readiness by identifying risks, assessing gaps, and providing data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
• Validate application functionality, reliability, scalability, and resiliency across cloud-native, Kubernetes-based, and retail store operating environments.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, Program Management, vendors, and business stakeholders to resolve issues and drive quality improvements throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Champion quality engineering best practices, Agile delivery processes, test automation adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior Quality Engineers and contribute to quality metrics and release reporting.
