About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting new and existing components to ensure software meets business, quality, and operational needs. This role involves aligning development teams to a shared technical direction, partnering with teams to elaborate solutions and interfaces, and working with stakeholders and architects to implement enablers. The engineer will build high-quality code using unit testing and test-driven development, establish critical non-functional requirements (NFRs), and mentor the team in best practices. Collaboration with peer organizations, dev ops, and support teams on technical issues is expected. The role requires interpreting business needs into technical requirements, providing accurate estimates, and evaluating tools, technologies, and processes to achieve high quality and performance. Troubleshooting code-level problems, applying deep technical expertise to resolve complex programming and design issues, and focusing on scalability, security, and availability are key aspects. The position also contributes to the design and architecture for secure, scalable, and maintainable software, as well as the technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing constraints to achieve business and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered, or 3 years of experience in a related occupation designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality, and operational needs
  • Building high quality code following unit testing and test-driven development
  • Establishing critical NFRs at the solution level, participate in the definition of others, drive and participate in code and document reviews, and mentoring team in best practices
  • Focusing on scalability, security and availability of all applications and processes
  • Contributing to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software
  • Contributing to technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resource, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirement
  • Utilizing the following software and technologies: JAVA/J2EE, JDBC, XML, XSD, Log4J, JSON, Web services, Spring, Spring Web Service, Spring boot, Micro services, SOAP, RESTful, JMS, Kafka, Cassandra, Grafana, GraphQL, JUnit, Groovy, Redis, Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Dynatrace, Quantum Metric, Tomcat, and Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality, and operational needs.
  • Align development teams to a shared technical direction and partners with those teams in elaborating the solution and its interfaces.
  • Work with portfolio stakeholders, solution and enterprise architects, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers.
  • Build high quality code following unit testing and test-driven development.
  • Establish critical NFRs at the solution level, participate in the definition of others, drive and participate in code and document reviews, and mentor team in best practices.
  • Collaborate with peer organizations, dev ops, support organizations on technical issues and provide guidance.
  • Interpret and translate business needs to technical requirements and accurate estimates.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure that the highest quality and performance is achieved.
  • Work with team to troubleshoot code level problems.
  • Apply deep technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problems.
  • Focus on scalability, security and availability of all applications and processes.
