This position requires onsite presence in Cedar Rapids, IA.

  • A proven ability to guide and lead software development processes
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead by serving the team. Build trust, listen, remove obstacles, provide clarity, and create an environment where engineers feel empowered to take ownership and succeed.
  • Develop great engineers and future leaders. Coach team members, provide meaningful feedback, recognize strong performance, support career development, and help people find opportunities that challenge and grow them.
  • Stay connected to the technology. Participate in the design, development, coding, integration, testing, and debugging of embedded software while helping the team work through its toughest technical challenges.
  • Build and sustain a high-performing team. Recruit great talent, strengthen team capabilities, foster a welcoming and collaborative culture, and ensure people understand how their work contributes to the mission.
  • Turn commitments into results. Help teams establish clear priorities, anticipate risks, remove roadblocks, and deliver predictable program execution while continuously looking for ways to improve.
  • Shape the work ahead. Lead and contribute to engineering bids, proposals, estimates, staffing plans, and technical strategies that position our teams for future success.
