About The Position

Omada Health is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead development of critical platform capabilities that power Omada’s connected care experience. This role focuses on building and scaling reliable systems that integrate and validate critical health data and enable real‑time, clinically meaningful insights for care teams and members. You will operate at the intersection of data integrations, backend systems, and healthcare workflows, delivering accurate, timely, and actionable data that directly impacts patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong backend focus using modern frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Python).
  • Experience with a relational database (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Experience designing and operating distributed systems with high reliability and data integrity requirements.
  • Experience working with data pipelines, event‑driven architectures, or real‑time processing systems.
  • You care deeply about reliability, testing, and documentation, and treat them as core parts of engineering, not afterthoughts.
  • You communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical partners and can translate business and clinical needs into technical plans.
  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally and navigating ambiguity in a fast‑paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with healthcare systems, medical devices, or regulated environments (HIPAA, FDA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with device integrations such as CGMs, wearables, or remote monitoring tools.
  • Experience improving data quality, validation systems, or reconciliation pipelines.
  • Background in building platforms or infrastructure systems used by multiple teams.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and modern CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of backend services and platform capabilities that support large‑scale, data‑rich applications.
  • Own projects end‑to‑end from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing reliability while partnering with product, data science, and clinical teams to turn complex requirements into simple, robust solutions.
  • Design and build scalable backend systems that ingest, process, and serve high‑volume health data.
  • Lead technical initiatives that improve data reliability, observability, and end‑to‑end system performance.
  • Drive architecture decisions for integrations with third‑party data sources and APIs.
  • Partner closely with product, clinical, and data teams to translate healthcare needs into robust technical solutions.
  • Improve system resilience and data quality, ensuring correctness in clinically relevant workflows.
  • Mentor engineers and elevate engineering standards through design reviews, testing practices, and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning, breaking down ambiguous problems into clear, actionable engineering work.
