About The Position
Monq is building AI agents that autonomously negotiate high-value enterprise contracts. We're tackling a $4.2 trillion market that's still run on spreadsheets, gut instinct, and back-and-forth emails. Our platform gives Fortune 500 procurement teams the speed and intelligence to close better deals, faster. We're looking for a senior engineer to help develop the Monq platform. You'll work across the full stack: APIs, frontend, database, infrastructure. We move fast with AI-native tooling — Cursor, Claude Code, and agentic workflows are part of how we build, not something we're "exploring." Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in early-stage or high-growth environments
- Strong in TypeScript and modern React — hooks, server state, component architecture
- Built production Node.js APIs (NestJS, Express, or Fastify) and know your way around PostgreSQL and ORMs
- Comfortable with AWS, Docker, Terraform, and owning the full deployment pipeline
- Use AI coding tools daily — Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar — and have opinions on how to get the most out of them
- Can take a loosely defined problem, define an architecture, and ship a production solution in days
- Care about simplicity — you'd rather delete code than add abstractions
- Enjoy working directly with customers to understand what they actually need
Nice To Haves
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS with enterprise auth (OAuth 2.0, Auth0, SSO)
- Hands-on experience with LLMs in production — prompt engineering, RAG, tool use, agent orchestration
- Familiarity with OpenAPI, code generation, and API-first workflows
- Understanding of procurement, contract management, or enterprise B2B domains
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve production APIs in NestJS, Fastify, and Prisma that power negotiation workflows
- Ship responsive, polished frontend experiences in React and TypeScript using Mantine
- Design and maintain our multi-tenant PostgreSQL data model with clean isolation and performant access patterns
- Own cloud infrastructure on AWS — Terraform, Docker, ECS, CI/CD with GitHub Actions
- Write tests that matter — unit, integration, and E2E with Playwright
- Contribute to engineering culture through code reviews, implementation specs, and architectural decisions
