About The Position

ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Engineering team. The role focuses on building and evolving scalable web applications and platform capabilities that deliver intuitive, high-quality user experiences. The engineer will work with product, design, and engineering teams to address complex problems and deliver reliable, extensible software using modern web technologies and cloud-based architectures. The listed base pay is $143,200–$243,400, plus equity when applicable, variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Requirements

Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software design patterns.
At least 3 years of experience developing web applications using JavaScript and modern frameworks or libraries such as React or Node.js.
Strong proficiency in Java and experience developing Java-based applications; experience with other object-oriented programming languages may also be considered.
At least 3 years of experience developing web-based or cloud-based applications.
Proficiency in web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and web services or APIs.
Experience with unit testing, integration testing, automated testing, and continuous integration practices.
Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience working in an Agile software development environment, with communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to learn new technologies quickly and evaluate appropriate solutions.
Experience using AI-powered tools or identifying opportunities to apply AI to engineering workflows and problem-solving.
A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with ES6+, Angular, or GraphQL.
Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments, shell scripting, or functional programming concepts.
Experience building reusable frameworks, shared platform capabilities, or component-based architectures.
