About The Position

The C2BMC Next Program, based in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Software Engineer to provide software development in the Java language for the Regional Applications/ Enterprise Services (END team). Your primary responsibilities will be software development using Java, able to work with other people using good verbal and written communication on the C2BMC program. As a Software Engineer, you will work independently or with a small group and be flexible in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment.

Requirements

Experience using Java with Knowledge of software practices and coding standards.
Ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend and develop a solution
Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also desired).

Use of common software development and management tools such as maven, GitHub, nexus and Eclipse.
Experience with agile development methodologies.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

Command and control system application development - Previous experience with message translation software
Automated test and pipeline development experience
Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience using Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms for scheduling, task management, and tracking project progress.
Agile Methodology Expertise: Strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, for iterative development and team collaboration.
Risk Management: Skilled in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing proactive solutions to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

Provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas.
Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution. design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications.
Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs.
Interfaces with other systems support groups to resolve problems, set standards and improve overall efficiency of the operating system.
Designs, codes, tests and implements tools for operations automation.
