About The Position

Verily, a subsidiary of Alphabet, is dedicated to transforming health management and healthcare delivery through a data-driven approach. Launched from Google X in 2015, its mission is to bring precision health to everyone daily by generating and activating data from diverse sources, including clinical, social, behavioral, and real-world data. This comprehensive view enables the development of optimal solutions for individuals, leveraging Verily's expertise in technology, data science, and healthcare to improve health outcomes across the ecosystem. The Viewpoint Site CTMS team (formerly SignalPath) is specifically focused on building next-generation software for clinical research sites. The goal is to enable efficient, collaborative, and timely execution of clinical trials, making research a more enjoyable and cost-effective endeavor. The role involves joining an interdependent, fun, and engaged development organization committed to delivering high-quality software solutions. The team operates with an agile mindset, and the position requires ownership of all aspects of the software development life cycle, a collaborative spirit, a bias towards action, and a desire to make a difference in people's lives by solving real-world problems alongside intelligent and driven individuals. The technologies used include Scala, Java, Golang, Python, Angular, React, Cypress, and cloud computing environments like AWS and GCP.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Java, Scala, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Full-stack web applications development
  • Interest in and ability to learn other programming languages and technologies as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go
  • Experience developing full-stack products is a plus
  • Experience working within an agile organization (we use Jira extensively)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex issues
  • Demonstrated interest in and ability to learn other programming languages and technologies as needed

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a high quality, FDA regulated software
