Hybrid

About The Position

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin, TX or Warren, MI, three times per week. The Senior Software Engineer will design and develop backend services, APIs, integrations, and event-driven solutions that support digital commerce and order-management workflows. They will build reliable and maintainable software using appropriate design patterns, testing practices, security controls, and coding standards. The role involves integrating services with platforms such as Shopify, IBM Order Management System, subscription and billing systems, fulfillment services, and other internal or external partners. The engineer will participate in technical design reviews, troubleshoot application and integration issues, and take ownership of DevOps practices for assigned services. This includes CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment automation, release readiness, rollback strategies, and environment configuration. Building and maintaining production operational capabilities like logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerts, and health checks is also a key responsibility. The role requires deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting containerized workloads using Azure and Kubernetes, and participating in on-call support activities. Collaboration with DevOps and SRE partners on cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, monitoring, security, scalability, and operational improvements is expected. Applying AI skills and AI-assisted development practices to enhance productivity, code quality, test coverage, documentation, automation, and troubleshooting is also a focus. The engineer will provide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced engineers and participate in hiring activities.
