About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will act as a senior Individual Contributor (IC) and module lead, providing technical guidance and mentoring a small pod of 2-3 engineers. You will design low-to-medium complexity features, consistently deliver high-quality code, and help ensure your team stays on track. The ideal candidate has deep experience in building robust microservices with Golang, managing cloud-scale data, orchestrating workflows with Temporal, and implementing proactive SRE observability principles. Our engineering is where high-quality professional engineering meets individual impact. Our team creates products are built on a mature, cloud-native event-driven microservices architecture hosted in AWS.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency and hands-on experience in Golang for backend system development.
  • Extensive experience with Microservices development, distributed systems, clean API design, and event-driven patterns.
  • Direct experience working with modern high-performance cloud databases, specifically Snowflake (data warehousing) and DynamoDB (NoSQL), Cassandra.
  • Solid understanding of SRE principles, setting up telemetry/observability, and managing Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Great communication skills
  • BS in Computer Science, or a related field
  • Comprehensive experience with an object-oriented programming language and techniques
  • Comprehensive understanding of Java Frameworks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS
  • Hands-on experience building highly resilient, stateful microservices using Temporal or similar orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery
  • Experience working on a Big Data/Machine Learning product
  • Experience instrumenting code for gathering production performance metrics

Responsibilities

  • Deliver efficient, maintainable, robust GO based microservices.
  • Produce designs and rough estimates, and implement features based on product requirements.
  • Collaborate with peers on designs, code reviews, and testing.
  • Produce unit and end-to-end tests to improve code quality and maximize code coverage for new and existing features.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leadership to continuously refine and improve the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback.
  • Deepen understanding of the product roadmap and user pain points.
  • Identify one area of technical debt or process inefficiency to improve.
  • Take lead on a larger epic or complex technical feature from design to deployment.
  • Propose and document an architectural improvement or tooling upgrade (via an RFC/design doc).
  • Begin mentoring junior engineers on the team.
  • Join the on-call rotation and handle incidents confidently.
