Experience developing distributed, high-throughput, and highly available systems.
Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
Experience with application performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar event-driven architectures.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
Experience working within financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries.
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering best practices.
Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and support scalable, secure, and resilient microservices-based architectures.
Design and develop RESTful APIs and service integrations that support internal and external business applications.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
Lead the technical design and implementation of complex software initiatives.
Drive coding best practices, design standards, and code review activities.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and operational stability.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while implementing long-term solutions.
Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to the technical growth of the engineering team.
Support DevOps and CI/CD processes to streamline software delivery and deployment.
Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
Writes code, tests and deploys software.
Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software.
Maintains and debugs software.
