About The Position

You will act as a Senior Backend Engineer, hands-on and working side-by-side with the team to design, develop, and strengthen these services. This is not a position focused solely on receiving and executing tasks. Even acting as a technical resource, you are expected to take on end-to-end problems, ask questions, and challenge team decisions when there is a better way to do something. What you will do: Design and develop reliable, observable, and easy-to-operate backend microservices and data pipelines. Act across the entire CI/CD cycle: develop, test, publish, and monitor your own code, taking real responsibility for the production environment. Contribute to the migration process to AWS, developing and operating services on AWS and helping to migrate existing pipelines. Work in an AI-assisted development flow, using AI agents to generate and evolve code and focusing your time on more relevant aspects such as architecture, review, quality, correctness, and robustness. Perform code reviews, both for human-developed and AI-generated code, maintaining a high standard of quality, reusability, and maintainability. Work together with the team on architectural decisions and trade-offs, identifying risks and better alternatives in advance. How you will work with the team: Autonomy with strong support: you will be responsible for your scope and lead your activities end-to-end, with the support of the entire team, especially the Tech Lead and Tech Manager, in addition to contributing to raising the technical level of those around you. You will ask questions and challenge decisions: we value professionals who present arguments and propose improvements, rather than simply executing silently what was requested. Open collaboration: you will participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and pair programming sessions, acting as an effective team member, not as an external supplier kept at a distance.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in backend engineering in a production environment, designing, developing, and operating microservices at scale.
  • Solid DevOps knowledge, including CI/CD, containerization, observability, and operational practices currently used in the market.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, developing and operating services in production — not just conceptual knowledge of the platform.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools for software development. You already use this work model, driving AI agents and reviewing, correcting, and strengthening the code generated by them, not just doing one-off experiments.
  • Senior-level autonomy: ability to take on end-to-end responsibilities, from solution design to production deployment, as well as contributing to the development of people around you through example.
  • Proactive and collaborative profile, with the ability to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and work in partnership with the team.

Nice To Haves

  • Clojure (strongly desirable): deep mastery of our specific stack is not required. Experience with functional programming and, especially, with Clojure, will be a great differential and facilitate adaptation.
  • For professionals who do not have Clojure experience, knowledge of other JVM languages, especially Java, is also valued, as our stack uses the JVM and remains within the same ecosystem.
  • Experience with event processing and messaging systems, such as Kafka or similar, and with high-volume data pipelines.
  • English: fluency is not required, but the greater the familiarity with the language, the better, as you will work in a global environment.
  • Experience migrating workloads between different cloud providers, e.g., GCP → AWS.
