About The Position

Our client is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale backend systems that power mission-critical mortgage servicing workflows. This is a high-ownership role for an engineer who can own features end-to-end, operate with autonomy, and meet a strong technical bar. You’ll work across product, backend, platform, and infrastructure problems depending on team fit and business priorities. The team is AI-native in how they build. Engineers are expected to use AI-assisted development tools to move faster while maintaining strong engineering judgment, human review, and production-quality standards.

Requirements

• 3–10 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals
• Experience building and scaling production systems
• Ability to own features from design through implementation, launch, and iteration
• Strong technical judgment and ability to pass a high engineering bar
• Comfort operating with autonomy in a startup environment
• Experience working with complex business logic, regulated workflows, or high-stakes systems
• Comfort using AI tools as part of the software development workflow
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across product and engineering teams
• Bias toward shipping reliable, maintainable software

Nice To Haves

• Experience in fintech, mortgage technology, lending, servicing, banking, insurance, or other regulated industries
• Experience building backend systems that handle payments, transactions, compliance workflows, or financial operations
• Experience with platform or infrastructure engineering
• Experience at a high-growth startup or enterprise SaaS company
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools in production engineering workflows

Responsibilities

• Own product and platform features end-to-end in a fast-moving startup environment
• Build and scale backend systems that support billions of dollars in mortgage transactions
• Design reliable infrastructure for complex financial, regulatory, and operational workflows
• Build systems that support federal, state, and agency compliance requirements
• Use AI-assisted development tools to write, test, and ship production code
• Partner across product, platform, infrastructure, and engineering teams
• Break down ambiguous technical problems and turn them into shipped outcomes
• Improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and maintainability
• Help define engineering standards as the company scales with large enterprise customers
