About The Position

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Roku team within the Global Product and Design group. This role is central to the mission of the Streaming and Games Team, responsible for the global streaming platform that supports all video products. The Global Customer Experience organization aims to engage and delight millions of customers by delivering Warner Bros. Discovery’s core streaming applications on all devices and platforms. The Roku development team is a significant part of this mission. The Senior Software Developer will collaborate with developers and stakeholders to design, build, and maintain software applications and features used by millions of daily users.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in developing and releasing software products and/or services.
Proficiency in client-side scripting languages such as JavaScript or Python.
Experience developing for streaming devices like Roku, FireTV, or similar platforms is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable collaborating using Git for version control.

Nice To Haves

Experience with BrightScript and SceneGraph is a plus.

Responsibilities

Write client-side code for streaming applications, demonstrating the ability to use industry-standard tools and technologies.
With guidance from senior engineers, actively contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Participate in all aspects of development, including reading and writing technical documentation, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting issues, and supporting releases.
Communicate effectively with engineers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, engaging in various meetings and working sessions.
