About The Position
Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a 12+ month contract opportunity with a Global Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This role requires strong expertise in ETL development, Ab Initio, PySpark, Python, and Oracle Database. The engineer will be responsible for supporting and enhancing existing ETL applications, providing production support, and leading the migration of ETL workloads from Ab Initio to PySpark. This position requires a strong technical contributor who can balance day-to-day operational support with strategic modernization initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in ETL development and data integration
- Strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio or PySpark, Python, and Oracle Database
- Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise-scale data processing applications
- Experience with production support, incident management, and root cause analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, version control, and automated testing methodologies
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or similar)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Proven experience migrating ETL jobs from legacy platforms to modern data processing frameworks
- Strong SQL skills
Responsibilities
- Maintain, support, and enhance existing ETL applications and data integration workflows
- Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution of incidents
- Analyze, design, develop, test, and deploy ETL solutions using Ab Initio, PySpark, and Python
- Lead and execute the migration of ETL jobs and data pipelines from Ab Initio to PySpark
- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to support code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, and migration activities
