Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
Motorola Solutions, a global community dedicated to keeping people safer, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary focused on advanced Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) radios. This role involves designing and building data processing pipelines to support machine learning methods utilizing large RF datasets. The work directly impacts customers by enabling products and services that use signal processing technology, with the potential to influence workflows that affect people's lives in critical moments. The engineer will address data security and availability, manage algorithm distribution across cloud infrastructure, implement data science algorithms at scale with real-time performance benchmarking, and collaborate with designers for responsive backend services. Leadership skills will be used to develop reusable components and foster collaboration between research and production teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years experience as a software engineer
- Expert knowledge in Python and NodeJS
- Experience with Linux, DevOps (command line)
- Experience with containerized infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience managing projects with Jira, Azure DevOps or similar tooling
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Bachelors degree with 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 6+ years of Python and NodeJS experience
- 6+ years experience with Linux, DevOps (command line)
- 6+ years experience with containerized infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes)
- 6+ years experience managing projects with Jira or Azure DevOps
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure: Azure and/or AWS
- Familiarity with RF signal processing
- Strong mathematics background, particularly in linear algebra
- Familiarity with regulated environments, such as sovereign clouds
Responsibilities
- Address data security and availability of data as streams
- Manage the distribution of algorithms across cloud infrastructure
- Implement data science algorithms at scale with real-time performance benchmarking and iterative improvement
