About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer participates in the technical design and implementation of new products and enhancements, working across all phases of the development cycle: concept, technical design, prototyping, code development, testing, release to QA, and implementation. The role involves cross-functional collaboration and may include leading system analysis, programming, engineering support, testing, meetings, and critical project deliverables. The engineer develops, tests, reviews, maintains, and troubleshoots applications while following established standards and considering the impact of code changes on end users and internal teams. The position also creates technical documentation, may contribute to product architecture, and stays current with emerging technologies and industry trends. This is a hybrid position based in Allen, Texas, with onsite work expected one day per week. The role is full-time and regular, with 5% travel. Immigration sponsorship and support are not available.

Requirements

At least 6 years of experience in software development.
Proficiency with modern Java (Java 11, 17, or 21+) including multithreading, concurrency, and object-oriented programming.
Ability to write complex SQL queries, joins, aggregations, and CTEs.

Responsibilities

Perform and potentially lead system analysis and programming activities, including research and timely, effective delivery of software into production.
Provide and potentially lead technical and engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery through application retirement.
Develop, test, and review applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.
Create and modify code using best practices and standard guidance, considering effects on end users and internal teams; review code from less experienced team members as needed.
Collaborate with the QA team to support timely delivery of high-quality products.
Work across teams as projects require and potentially lead cross-team efforts.
Complete and potentially lead critical tasks and deliverables independently, setting and updating expectations for scope, size, and timelines.
Participate in and potentially lead cross-functional meetings and discussions.
Create required technical documentation.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend innovative improvements to software development processes.
Follow documented departmental and corporate standards and participate in defining and documenting standards.
Potentially lead unit and integration testing to help ensure software reliability, security, and performance.
Debug and troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions.
Potentially contribute to product architecture.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
