About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Platform will work on Microsoft 365’s Substrate Unified Routing Fabric, which optimizes network access to backend servers for Microsoft 365 applications. The team operates a high-scale distributed service routing tens of trillions of requests per day and moving petabytes of data across user-to-service and service-to-service communications. The role focuses on Nanoproxy, a lightweight, high-performance native proxy intended to replace legacy IIS-based solutions and support a microservices-based cloud architecture. Through the M365 Integrated Routing Architecture (MIRA), the team handles traffic for workloads such as Teams and SharePoint Online, with an emphasis on routing, resilience, and security. The engineer will design and implement features for Microsoft 365 scenarios, including Copilot, and help build distributed, highly available, resilient systems. The position is part of an M365 DevOps team responsible for the service lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, delivery, and monitoring. It includes daytime on-call duties. The engineer will also contribute to technical excellence through architecture design, code reviews, and mentoring early-career engineers.
