The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide. Are you passionate about digital transformation in manufacturing? We’re looking for a Senior Engineer, Software Applications to help drive the implementation and continuous improvement of Corning’s asset and maintenance management systems across our global manufacturing network. In this role, you’ll partner with teams across manufacturing, maintenance, reliability, IT, OT, quality, and data engineering to improve maintenance workflows, asset reliability, and system performance using tools like IBM Maximo, AVEVA PI, Power BI, Databricks, and more. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in advancing digital maintenance solutions in a global manufacturing environment. You’ll help shape how technology supports reliability, operational excellence, and Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives across Corning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Strong experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite or equivalent CMMS system
  • Knowledge of SQL, REST APIs, data governance, and manufacturing system environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting CMMS platforms in manufacturing facilities
  • Knowledge of maintenance and reliability workflows
  • AVEVA PI historian
  • Power BI and/or Databricks
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0
  • Exposure to Python, JScript, or similar languages
  • Experience influencing change across complex operational environments

Responsibilities

  • Support the global rollout and optimization of IBM Maximo Application Suite
  • Translate maintenance and operational needs into scalable digital workflows and reporting solutions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve asset reliability, safety, quality, and process efficiency
  • Build and enhance dashboards and reporting in Power BI
  • Provide user training, documentation, and ongoing support for Maximo users
  • Assist with testing, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and system governance
  • Support manufacturing sites through deployments, outages, and continuous improvement initiatives
