About The Position

Historically, US Healthcare has relied on a fee-for-service reimbursement system where providers are paid based on the quantity of patient visits and procedures, rather than the quality of health outcomes. At Stellar Health, we help primary care providers put patient health first. Our platform - a mix of technology, people, and analytics - supports providers at the point of care, delivering real-time patient information, activating practice staff, and empowering providers and care teams with incentives that reward the work they are already doing to keep patients healthy. Using the Stellar App, our web-based, point-of-care tool; practices receive a simple checklist of recommended actions that support the best quality care. Providers and care teams are then paid monthly for each action they complete, and Payors save money in reduced healthcare costs along the way. We’ve shown that we make a real difference for physician practices and their patients. As a Senior Software Engineer- 2, you will develop core features of our healthcare platform. The Stellar Engineering Team offers an experienced and mature engineering culture, product development best practices, and an environment where every engineer impacts the Company’s success. We look for engineers who write clean, scalable code and contribute to our collaborative team culture. On the Autoprogression team, we’re focused on creating a seamless and frictionless experience for providers working in the Stellar application. This includes ingesting and transforming data so that providers trust our application as an up-to-date source of truth, evolving the frontend user experience to be more intuitive and insightful, and everything in between.

Requirements

• At least six years of total experience, with recent hands-on experience writing production-level code (Python is preferred / Java / C++ / Go)
• Experience in a cloud platform such as AWS (preferred), GCP, Azure
• Expertise in relational databases, such as PostgreSQL
• Experience driving medium to large projects from inception to completion
• Great written and verbal communication skills. We work with people across time zones and diverse backgrounds, so you need to be able to communicate both effectively and inclusively.
• Experience working on data pipelines and an understanding of the relevant nonfunctional requirements

Responsibilities

• Own the building and delivery of large parts of our core product according to business needs
• Write clear and concise production code for the Stellar Health Platform
• Work on mission-critical data pipelines, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and flexible to handle various customer and internal data
• Deliver new features by collaborating regularly with our product managers.
• Lead initiatives on the team backlog, setting technical direction and staging work into well-defined milestones
• Set consistent standards for code; testing and fixing bugs throughout the process.
• Ensure our users are presented with timely and accurate information that helps them do their job.
• Evolve the architecture to improve operational efficiency and support business growth
• Actively contribute to Stellar’s Engineering Culture and ensure engineers are writing clear and concise production code for the Stellar Health Platform
• Provide effective and constructive feedback by reviewing others’ work
• Set consistent standards via code and design reviews, as well as your own technical contributions
