Senior Software Engineer (Applied AI)

Traba•San Francisco, CA
•$200,000 - $240,000

About The Position

Traba is building an AI operating system for the industrial supply chain. The Senior Software Engineer (Applied AI) is a product-engineering role focused on applying frontier models and existing AI agents across Traba’s staffing marketplace and other product surfaces. The role helps automate the pipeline that sources, vets, matches, and places workers on shifts, as well as manual workflows for industrial businesses. The AI Agents team builds the agent platform; this role applies it where it can create leverage rather than owning the platform’s orchestration internals. The engineer works across frontend, backend, and deployment infrastructure, with priorities that may include AI-driven vetting or matching, payments, or platform work. They partner with the CTO on architecture and roadmap, collaborate closely with product and design, and build systems and product surfaces used across the company.

  • A track record of shipping scalable, performant applications and products in early-stage, ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to work across API design, user experience, and deployment infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Apply existing agents and frontier models across the worker app, business app, operations platform, and marketplace to automate vetting, matching, and fulfillment.
  • Lead frontend and backend development and mentor other engineers.
