About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in C++ development. This role involves implementing new algorithms for remote sensor data exploitation, optimizing existing high-throughput algorithms for image analysis, detection, and tracking, and demonstrating mastery of C++ for software design and architecture. The successful candidate will work as part of an Agile team, contribute to shared tools, and perform other duties as assigned. The position is hybrid, with a preference for the Boston area, but remote work is also acceptable.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science. Additional year of education may be substituted for years of professional experience.
• At least five years of professional experience and fluency in C++
• At least three years of professional experience using Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of Data Structures
• Optimization skills for high-data-throughput processing
• Detail oriented
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• 7-10+ years of professional software development experience currently working hands-on with C++
• Strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
• Experience with databases like PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the Versant Object Database (Versant DB) and also Mongo and/or Postgres
• Background or familiarity with Embedded Systems development
• Linux/Unix environment and multithreading/concurrency proficiency

Responsibilities

• Implement new algorithms for remote sensor data exploitation
• Optimize existing high-throughput algorithms surrounding our image analysis, detection, and tracking efforts
• Demonstrate fluent, idiomatic mastery of C++; comfortable with software design and architecture
