About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (SEG3) to support a large support services contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command. Position Description: You will provide support to the Program and Deputy Program Manager of a 200 person contractor team that includes subcontractor personnel. ​​​Work location and telework: The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. Teleworking may be possible with the customers’ approval but will need to evolve as the work relationships evolve.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • A high school degree, or a GED, and twenty (20) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and fifteen (15) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
  • A master's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and ten (10) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
  • Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Maintain databases within an application area.
