We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (SEG3) to support a large support services contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command. Position Description: You will provide support to the Program and Deputy Program Manager of a 200 person contractor team that includes subcontractor personnel. Work location and telework: The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. Teleworking may be possible with the customers’ approval but will need to evolve as the work relationships evolve.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
A high school degree, or a GED, and twenty (20) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
A bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and fifteen (15) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience, OR
A master's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and ten (10) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience.

Responsibilities

Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
Maintain databases within an application area.
