Senior Software Engineer [Embedded / Radar]
About The Position
Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development teams for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group. This role involves working on complex technical problems and providing highly innovative solutions, contributing to all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration. The engineer will develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities, and utilize strong investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess and develop solutions for issues. The position requires effective collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams, both internal and external, and contributions to program and customer meetings/reviews. The role also involves supporting program leads in technical decision-making and problem resolution, performing technical leadership for key tasks, and mentoring other engineers. Ensuring performance to technical, cost, schedule, and quality is also a key responsibility, along with supporting system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis. The ability to obtain "special access programs" (SAP/SAR) is required for continued employment.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools across phases of SDLC.
- Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS.
- Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

- Direct experience with Agile methodologies.
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
- Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.
