About The Position

Justworks is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain large-scale, complex applications and support the company’s business and HR products. The role focuses on delivering customer-impacting solutions, improving the performance and reliability of existing systems, and expanding high-volume, fault-tolerant processing infrastructure. The engineer will own large projects from discovery through launch, collaborate across functions, and promote engineering excellence through technical leadership, knowledge-sharing, and mentorship. The position also contributes to testing, monitoring, continuous deployment, and the secure compartmentalization of sensitive data. The ideal candidate is self-driven, curious about new technologies, and focused on solutions and customer experience rather than a particular tool or framework. Success in the role calls for sound judgment, resourcefulness, teamwork and communication, influence and leadership, and the ability to learn and apply relevant technical knowledge. Requirements

At least 5 years of professional hands-on experience.
Mastery of modern server-side languages.
Proficiency with SQL.
Proficiency with cloud infrastructure management, preferably AWS.
Experience supporting and mentoring other engineers and acting as a “force multiplier.”
Experience working closely with designers and product managers.

Nice To Haves

Golang experience is a plus, but is not required.
