Senior Software Engineer - Gen 4 Airborne Radar
About The Position
Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development teams for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group. This role involves working on complex technical problems and providing highly innovative solutions, contributing to all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration. The engineer will develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities, utilizing strong investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions. The role requires effective collaboration with teams across multiple disciplines, internal and external, and contributions to program and customer meetings/reviews. Support for program leads regarding technical decision making and problem resolution is expected. The position also involves performing technical leadership roles for key tasks and mentoring other engineers. Ensuring performance to technical, cost, schedule, and quality is crucial, as is supporting system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis. The role requires the ability to obtain "special access programs" (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant software development experience.
- Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools across phases of SDLC.
- Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS.
- Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.
- Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
