About The Position

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Senior Software Engineer. Perform software engineering duties in furtherance of design and implementation of custom web applications in the realms of internet security, content delivery, APIs, and/or cloud computing; design, implement, automate, and support all aspects of the product; participate in the architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of software solutions; develop new applications, improve current systems and bring new capabilities to our customers; contribute to our automated test suite, including unit, functional, integration, and end-to-end tests in labs and QA environments; improve current functionality and bring new features to the software platform. Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, or telecommunications Engineering
  • Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role
  • Two (2) years of experience with debugging and troubleshooting
  • Two (2) years of experience with distributed systems
  • Two (2) years of experience with web technologies such as J2EE, Rest, and Spring
  • Two (2) years of experience with algorithms
  • Two (2) years of experience with secure software design and architecture
  • Two (2) years of experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Unix shell scripts
  • Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Two (2) years of experience with web services development

Responsibilities

  • Perform software engineering duties in furtherance of design and implementation of custom web applications in the realms of internet security, content delivery, APIs, and/or cloud computing
