Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
Belay Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Sustainment) to join their intel team. This role involves analyzing user requirements, investigating and debugging software issues, integrating software, and recommending process improvements. The engineer will also develop, modify, and implement algorithms, assist with testing, and write documentation. Additionally, they will design and modify software systems, create database interfaces, oversee development teams, recommend new technologies, ensure quality control, and delegate tasks.
Requirements
- TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph
- Twelve (12) years of experience in software development/engineering in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Four (4) years of additional software development experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirement to derive software design and performance requirements
- Investigate and analyze system and user problems to identify potential solutions or fixes
- Debug existing software and correct defects
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operation environments
- Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
- Develop, mortify, and implement algorithms to address system performance or functional issues in operational systems
- Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
- Write or review software and system documentation
- Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineer: analyze systems flow, data usage and work process: and investigate problem areas
- Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
- Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
- Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
- Oversee one or more software development or sustainment teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project
- Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints
- Serve as the technical lead of multiple software development or sustainment teams
- Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects
- Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software
- Delegate programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitor their performance
