Senior Software Engineer, Apple Services Engineering, iCloud Platform
About The Position
Apple is seeking Software Engineers to contribute to the development of the next generation of cloud services infrastructure. This role involves working on critical components of iCloud and introducing new fundamental capabilities, which will enable the development of entirely new applications and the scaling of existing ones like CloudKit, FaceTime, and PushNotifications. These services form the foundation for products such as iCloud Photos, Drive, and Backup. The position offers an opportunity to work with world-class teams focused on engineering and delivering features with strong privacy guarantees for end users. The team is responsible for designing, building, and growing Apple’s foundational privacy-focused platform, which supports many of Apple’s signature applications and experiences, impacting over a billion users and being crucial to Apple’s growth in the services sector.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience designing, implementing, and operating highly scalable distributed systems
- Industry experience with programming languages such as Java, Swift, C/C++, or Go
- Experience in performance benchmarking, debugging, and tuning distributed systems
- Experience in cloud deployment and observability technologies, such as Kubernetes
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience

- Excellent communication skills, able to build relationships with diverse groups of people
- Experienced in managing technical and organizational complexity, able to drive a project from a simple idea to production
- Adept at approaching problems from a position of curiosity, working with flexibility to find innovative solutions
- Understanding of cryptographic protocols, data encryption, secure key management, and security architecture
