About The Position

Grey Matters Defense Solutions is seeking a talented and dedicated, Senior Software Engineer. This role involves solving real-world problems relevant to the Intel Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) using a combination of FOSS/GOTS/COTS software and hardware. The engineer will contribute to all aspects of the project software development lifecycle, from research and prototyping solutions to assess feasibility, integration with external software systems, development, and product deployment. Key responsibilities include architecting, prototyping, developing, securing, testing, and helping to deploy and maintain software within a cloud-based environment. The role also supports deployments in real-world exercises, Agile project planning, reporting, and execution, and research into relevant software technologies, frameworks, best practices, software design patterns, and tools. Additionally, the engineer will provide design ideas for adapting or enhancing existing program capabilities or developing new ones.

Requirements

  • Proficiency working with Java and the Spring Framework
  • Proficiency working with Angular and Typescript
  • Experience with microservice architectures within a Docker containerized environment
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Mongo databases
  • Experience developing software in a Unix/Linux environment
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent technical discipline
  • Minimum ten (10) years of professional software development experience
