About The Position

Chainguard is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to contribute to the development and scaling of their Libraries products, a critical component of Chainguard's mission to secure the software supply chain. This role is part of the Experience team, which focuses on new product offerings and operates at a fast pace, launching and iterating on multiple products annually. The engineer will be instrumental in taking products from conception to market, scaling them to a large user base, with a strong emphasis on performance, usability, and developer experience. Key responsibilities include owning and developing critical areas of the Libraries product UI, designing and implementing high-performance web applications capable of handling large-scale data (millions of packages, versions, and dependencies), and collaborating closely with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver end-to-end features. The role also involves building intuitive workflows to simplify secure software consumption for developers, contributing to 0→1 product development, leveraging AI-driven workflows to enhance development speed and product capabilities, and shaping how developers interact with and trust software supply chains.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience building modern web applications at scale
  • Deep expertise in React
  • Deep expertise in Material UI (or similar component systems)
  • Deep expertise in GraphQL
  • Experience building high-performance UIs that manage large, complex datasets
  • Strong product ownership mindset. You can take a problem space and run with it
  • Experience working with modern frontend infrastructure (e.g., Vercel or similar)
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude, Copilot, or similar)
  • Experience building or integrating AI-driven product features or workflows
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with developer tools, package ecosystems, or registries
  • Exposure to software supply chain security or infrastructure products
  • Experience building data-heavy or analytics-driven interfaces
  • Background in monorepos or large-scale dependency systems
