About The Position

Visionist has an exciting new, fully FUNDED opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer. You will be joining a critical mission supporting our customers big data processing platforms. The analytics developed and deployed in these ecosystems are critical to ensuring that the data flowing through the agency can be leveraged by analysts to perform mission critical reporting and decision making. You will be working with the newest technology and methodologies for processing mass amounts of data and distilling them into actionable results. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
  • 20 years of experience in software development
  • Experience leading multiple software development teams or large-scale software engineering efforts
  • Experience evaluating and implementing software development processes and engineering best practices
  • Experience overseeing software quality assurance, testing, and release activities
  • Ability to coordinate technical work across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • U.S citizenship required (green card holders and permanent residents are not eligible).
  • Applicants selected will be required to obtain / maintain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical direction of software development efforts across multiple teams
  • Recommend and evaluate new technologies, tools, and processes to improve software solutions and development efficiency
  • Collaborate with customers and systems engineers to define and implement appropriate software development methodologies
  • Oversee software quality throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and best practices
  • Coordinate development and testing activities across teams, assigning work and monitoring progress to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers while supporting team growth and development
  • Identify technical risks, resolve challenges, and communicate project status to stakeholders
